A fascination for translucent reduction porcelain has motivated Margaret over the last few years. She has developed her own body and celadon glazes to be used over carved porcelain alongside a range of overglazes and pigments for the coloured porcelain. The carving is carefully cut when the porcelain is at the leather hard stage with a range of sharp tools made by David (who delights in making tools to fit any workshop need).

Alongside the exacting control required by the porcelain Margaret enjoys the freedom of stoneware clays. Later work has been on a larger scale using the 'throwing and adding on method' to make jars and tall bottles. Glazes being developed at the moment include copper reds achieved with several layers of glazes, overglazes and pigments.
